JULY NEWSLETTER
First of all, a very warm welcome to all our new members. There is a New Members booklet available from the bar or the office. Sorry it wasn’t available when you first joined but Covid has got in the way!
Fixture books should have been available too but there is a revised weekend fixtures list for the rest of the year so do ask if you want one. The fixtures can also be found on the website. Those who have fixture books should check as there are some changes.
The trolley sheds are for those who have paid to have a locker and only those members should be leaving their trolleys there, in the space above their locker. There are still a few lockers available to rent.
There have been rats in one of the trolley sheds This is being attended to so we would ask you not to leave food , sweets or any used wrappers in your bag or locker.
We have been using Cobra for several years on the computer for competitions and sending emails, e.g. newsletters etc. But emails haven’t been working and are now being sent through BRS and Cobra will not work with the new World Handicapping System which will begin in the Autumn. We will be changing providers, hopefully within the next few weeks and we will keep you informed.
We have introduced BRS booking system and it is proving very useful. It is also freeing up a lot of time in the office. For those not sure how to cancel a booking, find your time and go to edit.
We block booked times for Tuesday and Friday stableford evenings on BRS but, after consideration looking at how many have been playing so far, we are changing the times to 4 to 4.30 and 5 to 5.30. We have lost several visitors who wished to do 18 holes starting after 2.30 which we can ill afford to lose. So you can turn up to play in the blocked times or you can book in the spaces. However do be considerate of those starting their second 9 as they should alternate with those starting. We will continue to monitor how this is working.
If the club has information for you in between newsletters and you know of anyone who does not have email or doesn’t want to receive group emails suggest they look on the website. Under the home page there is a section marked “Latest News” and information will be put in there. If it is member sensitive it will ask you to look in the members’ area. The password is Ryde010.
Within the members area there are also minutes, policies etc.
