Many thanks Aidie for organising a very enjoyable captains day. I am sure all those who took part would agree.
Thanks too to Paul Moreton for his work in the kitchen
Junior Section
Jim Thorn is working with England Golf and the Golf Foundation in order to get junior golf underway. We should have everything in place soon. Jim is looking for parents of all current and potentially new junior members, to contact him directly on jimthorn1@aol.com. Training sessions will take place on Monday late afternoons later this year, and on Saturday afternoons in winter. Please also contact Jim if you have any donations of good condition golf clubs which may be suitable for use by any juniors who do not have their own equipment.
We have bought special fertiliser which we hope will help get rid of the leather jackets in the greens. There will be a maintenance on the greens on Thursday and Friday, top dressing and spraying, and there will be further spraying for the leather jackets in about a fortnight. Please be aware of notices
A reminder, that Kay and Laura can be very busy running the bar and kitchen on their own. Please be tolerant and courteous if you have to wait for a short while waiting to be served.
Before men’s captains day I picked up numerous cigarette ends off the patio and by the main entrance. Barry Englefield has also picked them up and out of the flower bed. This is not acceptable! I have bought some cheap ashtrays. If they are not on the tables outside do ask for one.
Finally we all still need to take care over Covid. Please try and remember to use the one way system, sanitise your hands as you enter and as you leave via the patio door. It can also get rather crowded on the patio so do try to maintain social distancing.
Take care and stay safe
Sue
